Quote of the Week // 11th Week

Quote of the Week - 11th Week Simply Megan Joy Blog.png

This quote isn’t famous. They’re some words that I heard a few days ago, in the Walmart check-out. Her name tag said, “Ysa” and she spoke with a thick foreign accent. She was an older lady who smiled as she scanned the John Lennon CD my sister was buying. She told us how she loved Lennon’s song, Imagine. “That is something everybody in this world should think about. No war, no fighting.”

I loved her optimism about how the world could be, how she could imagine it, and how she had a dream.

Ysa was right – We’re all allowed to dream. We are each granted the ability to dream about something on long waits or trips, while walking outside, star gazing, or even cleaning the house. Dreams keep us pushing and striving for a better world and while it may not seem as though our own personal dreams can change the world in some huge way, God can still use our goals and hopes for Him.

I guess, what I’m trying to say is – I know you have a dream. Don’t let go of it because you think it’s worthless to the world. Hold on to it because of its value to you.

“You may say I’m a dreamer,

But I’m not the only one.

I hope someday you’ll join us,

And the world will live as one.”

Imagine, by John Lennon

Are you fond of this (non-famous) quote?

Have you ever listened to “Imagine?”

What is your dream?
